All staff shall possess a growing faith in Jesus Christ and the ability to share that faith with others.
Counselors working in all four programs, Day Camp, GENEVA Shores, GENEVA Pines, and High School are responsible for carrying out the weekly program with campers by being positive role models, living with their camper during the week, providing care and support for each camper, and sharing with campers their faith in Jesus Christ. These individuals shall be at least 18 years of age and one year out of high school, and have previous experience working with children.
Kitchen staff will be responsible for assisting cooks in the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals. These persons will also have program contact with campers throughout each week. Kitchen staff must be at least 17 years of age.
Lifeguards will be responsible for all waterfront activities (lake and pool). Job duties include testing of all campers for swimming ability, enforcing waterfront policies and procedures, providing waterfront program activity options, facilitating challenge activities at GENEVA Pines, and teaching community swim lessons at GENEVA Shores. These persons shall be at least 18 years of age and possess American Red Cross advanced lifesaving and CPR certificates.
Challenge Staff will be responsible for all Pines waterfront activities. Job duties include testing of all campers for swimming ability, enforcing waterfront policies and procedures, providing waterfront program activity options, and facilitating challenge activities (climbing tower, zipline, initiatives). These persons shall be at least 18 years of age and possess lifeguard certification.
Maintenance staff will be responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of camp facilities. Maintenance staff will also have program contact with campers throughout each week. Maintenance staff must be at least 17 years of age.
Arts and Crafts
Arts and Crafts staff will be responsible for the day-to-day program for GENEVA Shores or GENEVA Pines resident campers and day campers in the area of arts and crafts. He/She will work with the Program Director in managing the arts and crafts program and devising new and creative projects for children. He/She will oversee the staffing of this area. This person shall be at least 18 years of age, possess proven arts and crafts skills, and preferably have a minimum of one year camp staff experience.
Store staff will operate the store during open hours, maintain and clean the facility and equipment between open hours, see that supplies are stocked for the next open hours, and help track inventory. Store staff must be at least 18 years of age and preferably have a minimum of one year camp staff experience.
Media staff will be responsible for producing a video each week of camp, including filming, editing and duplicating. Other video projects may include a staff video, summer highlights video, and staff recruiting video. In addition, these staff members will take photos to be posted online daily. Media staff must be at least 18 years of age and have a working knowledge of video equipment, editing software, DSLR cameras and social media.
The nurse will be responsible for the health and safety of each camper and staff member at Camp Geneva. This person will maintain all medical records, administer all medications, screen all campers, and is responsible for treatment of all participants. Applicants should have graduated college or be entering their final year in a nursing program.
Worship staff will help provide for worship times for campers and staff. Duties include worship leading, helping staff develop a theology of worship, empowering staff to lead, set up and take down of equipment, and developing songsheets/powerpoint. Applicants should be at least 18 years of age and have prior camp experience.
Games and Activites
Activity staff will be responsible for large and small group games and special program activities. Duties include game development, directing staff, leading games, debriefing the activity, providing for equipment, set up, and clean up. Applicants should be at least 18 years of age and have prior camp experience.
