Job Descriptions

Our staff have a growing faith in Jesus Christ and want to work at camp so they can share that faith with others. Staff must be at least 18 years of age.

In all four programs, Day Camp, GENEVA Shores, GENEVA Pines, and High School, counselors carry out the camp program by being positive role models, providing care and support for each camper, and exploring the love of Jesus with their cabins. Applicants must be one year out of high school, and have previous experience working with children.

Keep campers and staff fueled for a fun day at camp by assisting to prepare, serve and clean up meals. During off times food service staff participate in songs and skits, all camp games and get to adopt a cabin . 
Lifeguards make it possible for campers to do their favorite activity – swimming! Shores lifeguards are responsible for all activities at the pool and at the Lake Michigan beach. Invest in the surrounding community by teaching swimming lessons as well. Applicants must be lifeguard certified.
Stepping outside of their comfort zone is one thing that helps campers to grow, for many pines campers that happens climbing the tower, blobbing or on the zipline. Challenge staff facilitate these activities, and make it possible for campers to safely swim and play in the water on pines. Applicants must be lifeguard certified. 
The environment of GENEVA is one of the things that make it so special. Help camp to be as beautiful as it can be. Start campfires, clean dining halls, mow grass, fix things and drive a gator. In the evenings maintenance staff participate in songs and skits, all camp games and get to adopt a cabin. 
Arts and Crafts
Help campers use their imagination and embrace creativity at camp. Camp is a place where campers are free to try new things, and arts and crafts is a great place to start. Help choose projects, organize and purchase supplies, mix tie dye and get campers and staff started on projects. Applicants should have prior camp experience.
Campers love going to the store during free time and grabbing a snack. Store staff add to the fun by opening the store during free time and doing inventory and restocking between open times. During down times store staff participate in songs and skits, all camp games and get to adopt a cabin. Applicants should have prior camp experience.
Communicate the mission GENEVA and the ways God is moving here. Participate in each program, from day camp to high school, taking pictures and posting daily on social media. Must have experience with DSLR cameras and social media.

Help campers bring their camp experience home with them. Each week film, edit, and create a video that communicates the camp experience. Help us create marketing materials for the following year. Applicants must have a working knowledge of video equipment, editing software, and DSLR cameras.

Make sure that campers and staff are cared for during their time at GENEVA. Nursing staff see campers daily for medications and treatment of illness and injury. Organize and keep records of all medications and treatments during the week. Applicants should have graduated college or be entering their final year in a nursing program.
Set the tone and lay the theological foundation for worship at GENEVA. Plan, set up and lead worship for campers and staff and empower others to do the same. Applicants must have prior camp experience.
Games and Activites
Invent and lead large and small group games, interest groups and help counselors use activities to teach and connect with their campers. Brainstorm, plan, lead, implement and debrief activities across all age groups and programs. Applicants must have previous camp experience.
