My favorite passage of scripture is:
James 1:2-4: Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
This passage helps to put things in perspective. Even when things aren’t going the way I would have chosen, I can look forward both to the things that God has in store and learning on the way.
Hard things happen to all of us. When they come, we need to try to have joyful attitudes. God uses these events to teach us and we can turn to Him and others around us in the midst of hard times.
