Dave Vanderwel to continue as Executive Director: The GENEVA Board of Directors has asked Dave Vanderwel to rescind his plans for retirement and continue to lead the ministry of Camp Geneva for at least two more years (until May 2011 or beyond). As a result, Dave has postponed his planned retirement and agreed to remain as GENEVA's Executive Director.
In announcing the decision, Board President Bill Boersma commented, "In light of the current economic instability and uncertainty, the Board recognized this is a critical time for maintaining continuity in the leadership at GENEVA. While the ministry is currently strong, we are aware the current economic realities could well impact GENEVA's camper enrollment and financial base in the coming year. We all trust Dave's leadership and, with his fifteen years experience as Executive Director, feel that he is best prepared to deal with the issues that might arise and most able to lead the organization forward."
