Why send your child to camp?

We’re really excited that you are considering sending your child for a week at camp. It is one of the most powerful experiences a young person can have. During the week, we put them in a new environment (away from all those things that otherwise preoccupy their attention), put them with some wonderful role models (who are chosen because of their love for children and for God), and put them into a situation where Jesus is the focus of everyday. It’s no wonder why kids call it the best week of their summer.

If you are in the position of wondering whether it worth sending your child to camp, listen to last summer’s campers telling you why they think your child should come to camp. (These quotes all come from the camper evaluation forms filled out at the end of their camp week.)

Your child will have an incredibly good time.

  • "It was fun, fun, fun, and more fun!" (Andy, age 11)
  • "It was a lot of fun. The best time I’ve ever had." (Dylan, age 9)
  • "Wow! Camp Geneva was sooooooo fun! We did so many awesome things! Nothing should ever be changed about Camp Geneva!" (Joanie, age 12)
  • "This week at camp was one of the best weeks of my life and I really don’t want it to end." (Chelsea, age 12)
  • "Camp Geneva was one of the best weeks of my life." (William, age 9)
  • "It doesn’t seem possible to have so much fun and come this close to God in the same place." (Matt, age 11)

We’ll put your child with the best role model we can find.

  • "Aunt ____ was such an impact in my life." (Maggie, age 10)
  • "Camp leaders (counselors) "allways" made me feel safe and loved. They helped me have a better relationship with Jesus!" (Kayla, age 10)
  • "Thank you for choosing such dedicated, amazing people to make up the staff. They are truly awesome people." (Emily, age 14)
  • "I think that God is calling me to be a person like you who helps people understand. I think that because I just feel like I want to be a "councilor" at Camp Geneva." (Andrew, age 11)
  • "Thanks for such a good week, and thanks for helping me ask God into my life. I love you and I know God does too!!" (Tyler, age 9)

Your child’s faith will be strengthened.

  • "Camp Geneva has really shown me how to get closer to God. I love God and love raising him every day and you helped me want to do that! Thank you!" (Addy, age 12)
  • "I have never felt close to God until I came here." (Meg, age 10)
  • "I saw God strengthen my faith exponentially and that of my friends as well." (Alex, age 15)
  • "Camp has been one of the most spiritual things in my life." (Gabby, age 14)
  • "You guys are amazing. I have more faith than ever and so much I can’t put it into words. I can feel Jesus all the time here. It’s just amazing." (Allyson, age 12)

Your child’s life may be changed.

  • "Camp Geneva changed my life last year. If Camp Geneva keeps going like this, you’ll have yourself some people that’s lives have changed because of Jesus! You Rock Camp Geneva!!" (Amanda, age 12)
  • "Camp Geneva can turn your life around. I feel that way after I come here every time." (Courtney, age 12)
  • "Thanks so much Camp Geneva! My life has changed A LOT! (Whitney, age 11)
  • I loved coming here. It was such a life-changing experience." (Natalie, age 14)
  • "Going to Camp Geneva changed my life." (Brianna, age 11)
  • "It has helped me really take a big step in my faith that I don’t know if I would have taken if it hadn’t been for this camp." (Emily, age 14)

So, what do you want for your kids this summer? Another recreational experience? A camp to sharpen their athletic skills (just in case they might be college scholarship material)? Or more time "hanging out" with friends?

Why not think about investing in a memory-making experience that could affect the way they look at life and build the kind of faith you’ve been praying they would acquire? We’ll do our best to help your child have that kind of experience at Camp Geneva this summer.
