Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

1 Corinthians: 4-7: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Jeremiah 29:11 is an uplifting verse that always reminds me that God is ruling my life and that I need to give Him control because He knows best. I Corinthians 13:4-7 is just a friendly reminder on how I should act.

The passage from Jeremiah can be used to encourage campers because it is God’s way of comforting you through tough times. The 1 Corinthians passage is a guideline on how to live. When I was a CIT in 2005, we substituted our names for the word "love" and tried to fulfill all the things love is.
