10th - 12th grades

In this two-week program, CITs spend the first week growing in a relationship with other CITs and preparing to step into a cabin alongside a counselor. The second week you'll be hanging out with the kids, helping them grow in their relationship with Christ.

GIVING BACK:
Have you ever dreamed about being a camp staff member so that you could share the love of Christ with kids? Do you desire to invest in young lives the way others have invested in yours? Then apply to be a GENEVA CIT (Counselor-In-Training). Make no mistake, it will not be easy, but it will likely be your most rewarding camp experience yet!

LIVING IT:
CITs will spend two weeks at camp. During your first week you will stay in a cabin  at GENEVA Pines along with the other CITs preparing yourselves for the week ahead. You’ll spend time helping lead the various camp activities.

During your second week you will move into a cabin alongside a GENEVA counselor to lead a group of 3rd-5th grade Shores campers through their week. You will help lead the Bible studies, songs and skits, and other activities.

Your camp fee will cover all camp expenses including full camp photos, your CIT t-shirt, and the camp DVDs.

THE NEXT STEP:
CITs are chosen based upon their application, interview, references, and needs of the camp. Interested individuals should register early to receive the application materials. Registrations will be accepted through February 15 and interviews will be held in March.

Special Note: CITs will be at home over the weekend between their two weeks at GENEVA.
Quotes from CITs:
"Being a CIT exceeded my expectations!! These two weeks were incredible!! I grew so much closer to God than I thought I would and learned more from these kids than I expected."

"Being a CIT is not for the faint of heart, but it is such a rewarding experience. I learned a ton about putting faith into action and the value of a positive attitude."

"I kind of knew what to expect, but we were able to get way more involved and feel like actual staff this week. It was awesome!!"

There were so many times this week that I knew it just had to be a 'God Thing'".
The application process:
  1. Complete and mail in the registration form found in our summer brochure or register online. Registration deadline: February 15. We will send you a CIT application form and two reference forms for you to give to two people outside your family (school or Sunday School teacher, youth leader, family friend). You do not need to send any money at this point.
  2. Complete and mail back the application form and the two reference forms no later than returned by February 28.
  3. Personal interview. CIT interviews are done in March. Phone interviews are available for those who live too far from GENEVA to come for a personal interview.
  4. If you are chosen to be part of our CIT program, you will be notified in writing and asked to send in the registration fee.
The CIT role is very important to our campers and the GENEVA summer program. Campers will look at you as one of the staff, and will likely want to model themselves after you. Thus it is important for GENEVA to select the best possible candidates as CITs so that the entire summer program will continue to be strong. We hope you are one of them.

Due to the large number of registrations we receive for our CIT program, we realize many of you who apply will not be accepted. If you would like to attend the High School Water Week or the Discipleship Camp if you are not accepted into the CIT program, we recommend you register for both programs right away as the Discipleship Camp may be full by the time it is determined who has been accepted for the CIT program. Please send two separate registrations - one for the CIT program and one for the Discipleship Camp. If you are accepted into the CIT program, we will cancel your Discipleship Camp registration, transfer your payment to your CIT week, and refund the balance.

Please note that since the first week of the CIT program is very similar to the Discipleship program, we will only allow you to attend one or the other. You may not attend both.
